Delta Gamma is a sisterhood of over 260,000 members, each with a unique story and experience. It is these stories and experiences of our members over the past 150 years that make Delta Gamma who we are today.
As we celebrate our sesquicentennial, we are excited to announce a new endeavor, The Sesquicentennial Oral History Project, to collect the stories of alumnae in their own words. These stories will be preserved in a book that celebrates the impact Delta Gamma has had on your life and who you are today.
We have partnered with industry leader PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to help us collect updated contact information from members who have moved, switched email addresses or landed a new job.
What story will you share? Do you have a special memory with a lifelong sister? Did a sister have a profound impact on your life? Can you trace your career back to a defining moment in Delta Gamma— at an event or a role you served in? Were you in Delta Gamma during a historical moment? Whatever your story is, we can’t wait to hear it!
With so many members and stories to capture, we knew we could not do it alone. By partnering with PCI, we can work with their trained staff of real, live people who are excited to listen to your story. PCI will collect and assemble the stories into a Delta Gamma Oral History book just as we wrap up our sesquicentennial celebration. The publication will share memories and stories across generations and will be available for Delta Gamma members to purchase.
Please note: We have only shared your contact information with PCI in conjunction with this project. We have not sold or used your contact information for outside marketing purposes.
For more information, please review the frequently asked questions below.
I received an email/postcard/phone call from a company asking for my personal information and a story about Delta Gamma Fraternity. Is this legit or a scam?
It is legit! To commemorate our sesquicentennial celebration, we have partnered with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to produce an Oral History Publication for Delta Gamma Fraternity. PCI is a family-owned business based in Dallas, TX that has published directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities and military organizations across the nation for over 100 years. This project allows Delta Gamma to hear about your personal experiences and how the Fraternity helped to shape your life.
Does Delta Gamma Fraternity benefit from this at all?
Yes, in a few different ways:
How do I know my information will only be used for Oral History Project purposes?
PCI is committed to protecting your information. The names, addresses and information provided to PCI for the publication of the Oral History Project will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the Oral History Project and except as required by court order or law.
I would like to verify or update my information and share a story. How may I do this?
Why do I need to call? Why can’t I just update my information and share my story online?
Although advances in technology allow us to share information online in seconds, this project uses phone calls so you can speak to a real person and ensure your information is correct. The PCI staff member may ask you follow-up or clarifying questions that an online system would not allow.
Do I have to buy something?
No. This project is being done at no cost. The project is completely funded by the Delta Gamma members who choose to purchase the Oral History book that will be produced at the end of the project. Various book packages will be offered. PCI will also offer you the option to purchase other Delta Gamma-branded merchandise. You are welcome to purchase these items, but you are not required to do so to participate in the project or order the Oral History book. Again, we’d never be able to embark on a project like this without the support of our amazing members and partnership with PCI. We sincerely thank every person who participates and chooses to purchase the book.
Will I be asked to buy something?
Yes. Along with updating your contact information and answering questions about your Delta Gamma experience for the Oral History Project, you will be asked to pay your annual per capita dues (if you have not already paid) and purchase merchandise and/or the Oral History Project book. You are under no obligation to pay your dues or purchase the book and merchandise.
Will I speak to a Delta Gamma staff member during the call?
When you call PCI, you will speak to one of their staff members. By coincidence, you may speak to a Delta Gamma who is also a staff member of PCI, but you will not be speaking to a Delta Gamma staff member when you call PCI.
How can I participate if I am Deaf/Hard of Hearing?
If you would like to participate and are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, please email customerservice@publishingconcepts.com. PCI will send you a personalized link for you to share your written story and photo.
Can I choose what information prints in the publication?
When you call to update your contact information, you can tell the PCI representative if you prefer any of your information be excluded. You can also communicate your preferences to PCI’s customer service desk at 1.800.982.1590 or customerservice@publishingconcepts.com.
I updated my information but need some more time to think about what experience to share.
You can call back at any time before 6/14/2024 to share your story.
I shared a story and the representative said I could send a photo. How do I do this?
You will receive an email with a link to upload one photo (black and white or color) plus a caption.
If you have also purchased a book but do not have an email address on file, you will be sent a photo mailer to send a physical photo in to be printed (Note: the photo will be returned if you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope).
Can anyone purchase a book?
The Delta Gamma Fraternity Sesquicentennial Oral History Publication is available for sale only to Delta Gamma alumnae.
I ordered a book/package over the phone and would like to cancel my order. How do I do this?
Contact PCI’s customer service helpdesk at 1-800-982-1590 and they will take care of this for you.
Why was I asked to pay my per capita dues when I am already a dues-payer?
Thank you for paying your dues! Our systems are updated manually once we verify payments, so there may be an overlap in when you pay and when information was shared with PCI.
I paid my per capita dues during my call with PCI. Why is this payment not reflected on my member profile?
Thank you for paying your dues! Our systems are updated manually once we verify payment with PCI, so there may be an overlap in when you pay and when it will appear on your member profile.
